Anthony W King
Anthony W. King is a Research Staff Member in the Environmental Sciences Division, Climate Change Science Institute, and Urban Dynamics Institute of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. “Tony” received his Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1986 and joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1987. With over 30 years of experience in ecosystem science, theory and modeling, Dr. King has more recently been involved in scientific synthesis and assessment in support of decision making and the assessment of climate impacts on coupled socio-ecological systems, including the impacts of sea-level rise on military and urban infrastructure and climate change impacts and adaptation in agricultural systems. Dr. King is currently involved in a project developing an Urban Information System, in part, to objectively define urban typologies (multivariate types of cities) and understand how urban properties of interest vary with urban type.
